Specialist Courses

4x4 Introduction Course (Half Day)
Half hour presentation in the conference room covering issues relating to off road driving. 3 hour off road driving session covering the following; part time four wheel drive, permanent four wheel drive, differentials, differential locks, viscous coupling, traction control/hill decent control, basic off road driving techniques and safety issues, traverse slopes, ruts and negotiation water obstacles.

4x4 Intermediate Course (2 Days)
Covering the issues dealt with in the introductory module in more detail. Vehicle preparation, off road vehicle accessories, application of off road accessories, break down and recovery, pre expedition planning, field camping, basic survival, GPS (GIS optional) and navigation.

4x4 Advanced Course (4days)
Night driving, with/without lights, Cross axle simulation, negotiating water, advanced recovery techniques, convoy management, dealing with international security Issues, field camping and cooking.
