It's arrived! Feb 2006
After securing funding from Wales Tourist Board we were finally able to order the log cabin. We have ordered it from an American company www.amerlink.com. It docked in Liverpool on 19th March and was delivered to Creigiau. Please follow the progress on the Training Centre page which will be added in the next couple of days. We hope to have it open for business by May 2006. It will offer training rooms, bunk beds, kitchens to 4 star standard. We're all very excited!
Aussie Shoot - 31st March 2005
Hi All
Just to update you now, Nick is back from Australia. The shoot went ok with Nick and Mike finishing 4th in the pairs competition. This was a disappointment as they were just outside the medals. Individually Nick finished 16th, so more work to do there!! We all think he was too worried about leaving us in charge back home.
Cheeky Chops Students
Feb 2005
It was a pleasure to once again welcome Cheeky Chops charity and Jamie Oliver to Hensol for the third year of selection. Last years students we selected will ALL hopefully graduate in the next couple of months. You can read more about it on Jamie's website under the February section of the news.
New Year
We are all really excited here as we have just received planning permission to build a log cabin building in the woods in Creigiau. This will ena'ble us to offer training rooms, accommodation and more permanent team building tasks. It's great news for all of us and our customers for the new year.
For those of you who have been contacting us about Nick's shooting, this is just to let you know that he is doing very well and is off to Australia in March representing Wales in the Commonwealth Shooting Championships.
Happy new year to all our customers, old and new. We all look forward to seeing you all soon.

Business as usual!
As you may no doubt be aware Hensol Castle has been sold to the Leekes family to expand the Vale of Glamorgan hotel. This has not effected our company and we are still operating as normal.
However this has given us the opportunity to expand and we can now offer more on site activities. We also have a booking office at the Vale Hotel for guests to book the on site activities.
April 2004 GMTV
We were pleased to welcome the GMTV crew to Wales to film part of the "Inch Loss" programme. We took the castaways out for two days of activities testing them at hill walking, abseiling and many different team building challenges. This was all done under the watchful eyes of Nicki Chapman and Dr Hilary Jones. This will be shown on the television some time in May, for four days.
Feb 2004 Jamie's Kitchen
Once again the staff from Cheeky Chops brought 30 students down from London, to run through a two day selection programme which resulted in 15 students being selected. It was especially rewarding to meet last year's students who we had helped to select. The change in them was fantastic.
Cheeky Chops is a fantastic charity which is working hard to help these youngsters.
January 2004 - Malta Shoot
Nick attended the shoot in Malta and we are very pleased to announce that he took the individual gold medal and Welsh team had the silver! The individual contest was a very close competition which resulted in a shoot off for first place. Nick held his nerve and hit 25 targets straight to win.
October 2003
Just a short note to say that the India shoot has been cancelled. Thank you to everyone for your cards and good luck gestures. Hopefully they will run a competition in Malta to replace this.
Well Done Nick - September 2003
Congratulations to Nick as he has been selected as to represent Wales in India in the Commonwealth Federation Games in Dec 2003. Only 2 people are selected by the committee to take part, and we are very proud that Nick is one of them. We wish him the best of luck!
Results - August 2003
The international competition has been with Wales finishing 2nd overall. Nick has very pleased with score, which was among one of the top shots of the competition.
Climb a mountain or 3 - July 2003
Phew! I think that we are all glad that is over, and everyone at the moment is feeling like they never want to see another mountain again! It was the toughest 3 peaks we have done, although it was closely fought and we won by 15 minutes putting in a time of 18 hours and 24 minutes! There are a few blisters in the office now! Massive thanks to Robyn Higgins from Active 8 for supplying us with the isotonic drinks to keep us going, and to everyone else who sponsored us. We have raised over £1500 for Action Research. The team consisted of Nick, Dan, Pete, Nick, Russell and Graham our brilliant driver.
Nick chosen for squad - June 2003
Once again we are very proud of Nick (the MD), as he has been chosen for the welsh squad for the international competition, on 29th – 31st August 2003, in clay pigeon shooting in the Olympic trap discipline. This year it is home and is taking place in Griffin Lloyd shooting ground in mid Wales. There will be 200 targets over 2 days. We wish Nick good luck!
Hard at it!!! May 2003
All the staff are currently training hard ready to defend their winning title of fastest team, in the 3 Peaks Challenge 2003. They are looking to beat last year’s time of 21 hours and 25 minutes, which was slowed greatly by traffic!
Jamie's Kitchen - March 2003
We are proud to be the teambuilding company, which Jamie Oliver used for series 2 of Jamie’s kitchen. 30 potential students invaded us from London for two days of team building as part of the selection process. We set up and ran a variety of challenges, which enabled Jamie and his team to pick the final 15 students to take part in his programme. In fact it was so close that the final 15 are 16! This will be shown in the autumn of 2003. Further details will be announced so watch this space!!!!
The Biz Challenge
On 23rd August 2002, 50 people came to Hensol to take part in the selection process for the Biz challenge. These are all people who have a business they wish to launch. With the backing of the WDA, five people will go forward to have their backing for their business launch. The contestants took part in a variety of team building challenges, with a team of cameras following there every move! Five eventually emerged as the finalists. This will be shown later in the year on BBC 1 Wales.
